The integration of the FieldFox Remote Viewer application with Keysight Technologies FieldFox handheld analyzers enhances operational flexibility by allowing remote monitoring and control capabilities. This is particularly advantageous for users who have equipped their FieldFox instruments with the remote connectivity option, designated as option 030. For comprehensive details regarding option 030, it is advisable to reach out directly to Keysight Technologies.

To utilize the FieldFox Remote Viewer, users first establish a connection between the FieldFox instrument and a wired LAN, alongside ensuring that power is supplied. Following this setup, users can connect their iOS device—be it an iPod, iPhone, or iPad—to a Wi-Fi or cellular network to gain remote access to the instrument's functionalities.

Once connected, the instrument's display is mirrored on the iOS device. If option 030 is available on the FieldFox, users can execute full remote control directly from their device, provided that it operates on iOS 7.1 or later. The application supports both portrait and landscape orientations; landscape mode offers a full-screen view of the data screen along with a pop-up keyboard, while portrait mode presents a combined visual layout of the FieldFox display and keyboard.

The app comprises a collection of online resources, including product manuals, brochures, application notes, and training videos. Product documentation is accessible and can be shared with third-party applications such as iBooks for offline viewing; however, users should note that a Wi-Fi or cellular connection is necessary to access all documentation except for the Intro Video, which is pre-installed in the app.

Remote connections to the FieldFox instrument can be achieved wherever the iOS device maintains network access capable of connecting to the instrument's LAN. It is important to note that using cellular connectivity may result in slower response times compared to Wi-Fi and could incur data charges from carriers.

For functionality requiring remote monitoring or remote control, a FieldFox instrument is required (not included with the app). Interested parties should contact Keysight support for information regarding the purchase of a FieldFox instrument compatible with this application.

Lastly, while no additional licenses are necessary for remote viewing alone, full remote control necessitates the inclusion of option 030 on the FieldFox instrument. For further guidance on outfitting a FieldFox with this option, contacting Keysight Technologies is recommended.
